A Mini Virtual Tour of A Typical Samurai-Lord's Garden in Sumida-ku, Tokyo
This is "Former Yasuda Garden" which is located in the center area of Tokyo. This garden was originally created in 1691 as a garden for a Tokyo mansion of a local Samurai lord. After Shogunate era ended, Yasuda financial group bought this garden but now it is maintained by Sumida-ku (Sumida-ward), then it is named “Former Yasuda Garden”.
This place is one of rare gardens that keeps the original style of Samurai lords’ garden. This traditional garden is designed for a enjoyment to walk the path around the central pond and to view a reproduced miniature landscape.
